We have created this Honda Jazz Mk1 dashboard lights meaning guide and will show you how to deal with an engine light, airbag warning light, ABS light and all of the other car warning signs on your dashboard. You might need to buy a scanner online which will show Honda trouble codes and clear the warning light for good.
If you need to reset a dashboard light or diagnose a fault on your Honda Jazz Mk1 we would advise you to go for the iCarsoft MHM V1.0 Honda OBD Code Reader. Its an extremely popular choice amongst Honda owners worldwide because it covers such a wide range of modules within the vehicle and has received excellent feedback from buyers.

If you need a new sensors to fix your Honda Jazz Mk1 such as ABS sensor, MAF, camshaft & crankshaft, visit www.bavariandominator.co.uk.

Honda Jazz Mk1 engine malfunction warning light - the engine warning lamp on your Honda Jazz will briefly illuminate when you start your engine but will go out once the engine has started. If the light remains on, or illuminates when you are driving it indicates that there is a fault in your engine. You could take this to an expensive Honda workshop, or you can diagnose & fix the fault yourself. The best kit to use for this is the iCarsoft MHM V1.0 Honda OBD Code Reader. It will read/reset & clear Honda trouble codes. Generally you will need to replace a sensor, but it's not always as straight forward as that. Which is why our i990 scan tool is a very popular tool.

Honda Jazz Mk1 airbag warning light - If your Honda Jazz is showing the airbag warning light after engine startup, it indicates that there is a fault within the SRS airbag module. It also means that the airbag system is not working as it should, therefore deeming the vehicle unsafe. You can diagnose the fault yourself by using on one of our airbag reset tools such as the iCarsoft MHM V1.0 Honda OBD Code Reader. It will diagnose the airbag section and tell you where the faults are located. When the airbag fault has been fixed the trouble codes can be removed/cleared and the light can be turned off.

Honda Jazz Mk1 ABS warning light for (Anti Lock Braking System) - This ABS warning lamp is normally coupled with the handbrake & BRAKE warning light & means that the ABS system in your Honda Jazz is at fault. Generally the problem is located at one of the four ABS sensors but that's not always the case. To find out where the fault is (or which abs sensor is at fault) you could take the car to the Honda workshop which is generally quite expensive. We recommend you use our iCarsoft MHM V1.0 Honda OBD Code Reader to diagnose the system. Once the system codes have been found and the fault has been fixed, the warning codes can be reset and the warning lamp on your dahsboard will go off.

Honda Jazz Mk1 engine too cold warning light - this indicator shows the temperature of the engine coolant. If there is no problem, this indicator comes on when the engine is cold. If it comes on when the engine is warm (normal operating temperature), have the vehicle inspected by your dealer as soon as possible.

Honda Jazz Mk1 Coolant H warning light - indicates that the engine is too hot due to lack of coolant supply to the engine block. This can happen if the coolant level is too low so we would advise you check your coolant levels and top up if required. At the same time you should be checking for leaks coming out of the engine bay, because over time coolant hoses, pipes & expansion tanks can crack and need to be changed out.

Honda Jazz Mk1 VSA warning light - this indicator normally comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. This indicator has two functions: It flashes when VSA is active. If it comes on and stays on at any
other time, there is a problem with the VSA system. Take your vehicle to a dealer to have it checked. Without VSA, your vehicle still has normal driving ability, but will not have VSA traction and stability enhancement.

Honda Jazz Mk1 VSA OFF warning light - this indicator comes on as a reminder that you have turned off the vehicle stability assist (VSA) system.

This indicator normally comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.

Honda Jazz Mk1 oil pressure warning light - the engine can be damaged if this light comes on and nothing is done about it. Check your oil levels and top up as required. If your oil levels are already sufficent, it could be that your oil level sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Honda Jazz Mk1 indicator warning light - flashes right when turning right, and flashes left when turning left. If you were not aware of this please hand in your drivers licence and continue to the bus stop.

Honda Jazz Mk1 Immobiliser system indicator - this indicator comes on briefly when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. It will go off if you have inserted a properly coded ignition key. If it is not a properly coded key, the indicator will blink and the engine’s fuel system will be disabled.

Honda Jazz Mk1 DRL warning light - this light indicates that the dayling running lights are switched on.

Honda Jazz Mk1 cruise control warning light - where fitted, the light will indicate that the cruise control system in your Honda Jazz is switched on.

Honda Jazz Mk1 braking system warning lights - light up when engine is on and handbrake is on. If the handbrake is on the brake fluid levels could be low. Please check your brake fluid level before you continue with your journey. if the fluid levels are fine you will need to take your Jazz to the workshop.

Honda Jazz Mk1 power assisted steering (PAS) warning light - This indicator normally comes on when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position and goes off after the engine starts. If it comes on at any other time, there is a problem in the electric power steering system. If this happens, stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the engine. Reset the system by restarting the engine. The indicator will stay on,
but should go off after driving a short distance. If it does not go off, or comes back on again while driving, take the vehicle to your dealer to have it checked. With the indicator on, the EPS may be turned off, making the vehicle harder to steer.

If you turn the steering wheel to the full left or right position repeatedly while stopping or driving at very low speed, you may feel slightly harder steering in order to prevent damage to the steering system caused by overheating. This may also happen if you hold the steering wheel on the full left or right position for a while.

Honda Jazz Mk1 ECO warning light - indicates that your Honda Jazz is operating in economical mode.

Honda Jazz Mk1 battery charging warning light - if this light comes on during normal driving conditions and temperatures, it means the battery in your Honda Jazz is not charging and needs to be looked at or replaced soon. You should have the battery tested as soon as possible to avoid being stuck away from your home with a dead battery.

Honda Jazz Mk1 fuel warning light - see this light up on your dashboard, it means you need to put more fuel in your car. Obviously :-)

Honda Jazz Mk1 VSA dash warning light - This indicator normally comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
If it comes on and stays on at any other time, or if it does not come on when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, there is a problem with the VSA system. Take your vehicle to a dealer to have it checked. Without VSA, your vehicle still has normal driving ability, but will not have VSA traction and stability enhancement.
