How To Check For A Dead Battery (With Video)

Each car will react differently if the battery is dead. Some cars will allow the ignition & dashboard lights to illuminate, and when you turn the key nothing happens. Some cars will not get as far as the ignition lights. and simply nothing will happen, not even the central locking will work. That is a good sign the battery is dead but to be sure you should test the battery like shown in the video below, you will need a multimeter which can be picked up for around £10 from your local auto store and the test is very easy as shown below.

Put your multimeter knob to DC (V sign with bar). If your multimeter has numbers then shift the knob to "20" (still under the DC or V sign with bar).
