Jeep Compass airbag warning light. If this light stays illuminated after the engine has started it signals that there is a fault within the airbag module and you are no longer being offered the saftety in the way your Jeep was designed to. You should get this checked out as soon as possible by your local garage. Unfortunately at this time we do not stock any tools which are suitable to diagnose the Jeep airbag system, and buying these tools yourself can be very expensive.

Jeep Compass ABS warning light (Anti Lock Braking System) - if this light stays on after the engine has started, it means there is a fault within the ABS system module. Although your brakes will still work, they will not be working in the way  in which they were designed to. The cause of this warning light is generally a faulty ABS sensor, but not always. You can pick up replacement ABS sensors from Dominator Auto Diagnostics, unfortunately right now we do not stock and ABS diagnostic reset tools for the Jeep.

Jeep Compass oil warning light - if this light is showing on your dashboard during normal operating conditions it could mean that the oil in your Jeep Compass is low. Please use your dipstick to check oil levels and top up if required. If the oil levels are already sufficient, it could mean that the oil level sensor is faulty.

Jeep Compass engine coolant temperature - this warning light is very important because it is vital that your engine is kept cool for it to keep working. If this coolant light is illuminated it indicates that the engine temperature in your jeep is too high. You should not continue to drive the vehicle until the problem is solved. Please check your coolant levels and top up as required, all the time looking for leaks to make sure that the coolant is not escaping anywhere. Over time it is possible that cracks can appear in the hoses & expansion tank.

Jeep Compass tire/tyre pressure warning light - illimunates when there is not enough pressure in one or more tyres. Please check your tyre pressures and fill up as required.

Jeep Compass transmission temperature warning light. Will initially light up upon engine start but should go out, if the light stays illuminated the transmission temperature is too high and must be checked out asap. Please contact your local JEEP or independant workshop.

Jeep Compass security warning light - this light will flash at a fast rate for approxi-
mately 16 seconds, when the vehicle security alarm is arming, and then will flash slowly until the vehicle is disarmed.

Jeep Compass hill descent warning light - the symbol illuminates (is armed) when the
4WD Lock switch is activated and the trans- mission range indicator is in LOW or REVERSE position (Off-Road Mode).

Jeep Compass fuel doorcap reminder warning light - when the ignition switch is in the ON/RUN position, the pointer will show the level of fuel remaining in the fuel tank. The fuel pump symbol points to the side of the vehicle where the fuel door is located.

Jeep Compass ESC OFF warning light - this light indicates the Electronic Stability Control system (ESC) has been turned off by the driver.

Each time the ignition is turned to ON/RUN, the ESC system will be ON, even if it was turned off previously.

The ESC system will make buzzing or clicking sounds when it is active. This is normal; the sounds will stop when ESC becomes inactive following the maneuver
that caused the ESC activation.

Jeep Compass ESC warning light - the “ESC Activation/Malfunction Indicator
Light” in the instrument cluster will come on when the ignition switch is turned to the ON/RUN position. It should go out with the engine running. If the “ESC Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light” comes on continuously with the engine running, a malfunction has been detected in the ESC system. If this light remains on after several ignition cycles, and the vehicle has been driven several miles
(kilometers) at speeds greater than 30 mph (48 km/h), see your authorized dealer as soon as possible to have the problem diagnosed and corrected.

Jeep Compass 4WD warning light - this light monitors the 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) system. The light will come on, for a bulb check, when the ignition key is turned to the ON/RUN position and may stay on for as long as three seconds.

When lit solid: There is a 4WD system fault. 4WD performance will be at a reduced level. Service the 4WD system soon.

When blinking:
The 4WD system is temporarily dis-abled due to overload condition.

Jeep Compass BRAKE warning light - this light monitors various brake functions,
including brake fluid level and parking brake application. If the brake light turns on it may indicate that the parking brake is applied, that the brake fluid level is low, or that there is a problem with the anti-lock brake system reservoir. If the light remains on when the parking brake has been disengaged, and the fluid level is at the full mark on the master cylinder reservoir, it indicates a possible brake hydraulic system malfunction or that a problem with the Brake Booster has been detected by the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) / Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system.
In this case, the light will remain on until the condition has been corrected.

Jeep Compass seatbelt warning light - indicates that a passenger has not fastened their seatbelt. Please ensure this is done before continuing your journey.

Jeep Compass battery warning light - this light indicates that your battery in your Jeep Compass is not being charged and possibly needs to be changed. Contact your local garage or Jeep workshop to have the charging system checked out.
