Audi A1 engine warning light (also known as MIL or EML symbol) - if the engine symbol is illuminated in your Audi A1 there is a fault within the emissions system. This is a pretty serious fault so you should check it out as soon as possible. Audi A1 ABS Dash Light - if the ABS symbol is illuminated on your dashboard it indicates that there is a fault within the ABS system and should be checked out asap. Audi A1 glow plugs heating warning light - if your vehicle is equipped with an automatic glow plug system. The indicator lamp lights up while the glow plugs are preheating. Audi A1 coolant temperature warning light - if this coolant symbol illuminates on the dash of your Audi A1 it means that either the coolant level is too low, or the coolant temperature is too high. You should check your coolant levels, but only when the engine is switched off and has been stood for an hour to cool down after driving. Top up your coolant if you need to.

If the coolant level is correct there could be a problem with the radiator or radiator fan. You should take the Audi A1 to a professional coolant expert, but your local garage should also be able to diagnose and repair correctly.

Audi A1 max engine spped rpm warning light - if this symbol is illuminated on your Audi A1 dashboard there is a malfunction in the engine management system. In addition, the EPC indicator lamp in the instrument cluster will light up. The engine speed will be governed to the speed displayed in the driver information system. Make sure that the engine speed does not exceed the speed displayed in the driver information system, for example when shifting down a gear.

Audi A1 DPF Diesel Particulate Filter warning light - if this DPF symbol on your Audi a1 dashboard is illuminated the diesel particulate filter requires regeneration.

You can assist the self-cleaning function of the filter by driving as follows:
Drive at a speed of at least 60 km/h for about 15 minutes in 4th or 5th gear, or with the selector lever in position S on vehicles with automatic gearbox. Keep the engine speed at about 2000 rpm. As a result of the increase in temperature, the soot in the filter will be burned off.

The indicator lamp will go out once the cleaning process has been completed successfully.

If the indicator lamp does not go out, drive to a qualified workshop without delay and have the fault rectified.

Audi A1 oil warning light - if this symbol is illuminated on your Audi A1 you should check your engine oil levels before you continue to drive. If you have checked your oil levels and they are within limits you should consider changing your oil level sensor which can fail. To be sure that the oil level sensor is faulty you should use a code scanner to check.
Audi A1 battery warning light

Audi A1 battery warning light - if this battery symbol is illuminated YELLOW it means that the battery is not charging and should be replaced as it will soon die. If the battery warning light is RED, it means that the alternator is at fault and should be replaced.

Audi A1 brake or ABS warning light - this brake symbol illuminated alone could mean that there not enough brake fluid in the tank and so you should check the levels and top up if required.

It can also illuminate with the ESP warning light (traction) and will indicate that there could be multiple faults within the braking system.
